Promenade Coating Project

PROJECT OVERVIEW

We’re pleased to announce that the promenade and concrete planters are being re-coated and re-faced as part of a multi-year phased project. Work began in the Fall of 2023 and has continued over consecutive three seasons according to the following schedule:

• Stage I: 2023/24 – Annapolis, Brandywine, and Chesapeake - COMPLETED

• Stage II: 2024/25 – Dover, Edgewater - COMPLETED

• Stage III: 2025/26 – Farragut, Georgetowne, Harbour, and Island - COATING PORTION COMPLETED. PLANTERS WILL BE RE-FACED IN SPRING 2026.

PROJECT UPDATE - November 25, 2025

Stage III of the Promenade Recoating Project is progressing ahead of schedule. All coating from Farragut House through Island House has now been fully removed and re-applied, putting the project in an excellent position going into the winter season. With the recoating phase complete in this area, crews will shift their focus to the refacing of the planters with stacked stone in the spring, when temperatures are most suitable for that work. All beach crossovers are open.
