Sea Colony Sharks swim team is dedicated to building a community based swimming program that develops team sportsmanship, confidence in swimming and the competitive training needed to compete in meets.


The Sharks are affiliated with the Delmarva Swim Association league and is for ages 5-18. The team is comprised of Sea Colony homeowners, renters, guests, as well as residents in the local surrounding communities. We offer a winter and summer team with pre-seasons and conditioning throughout the year.

All swim meets start at 6:00pm

Monday, June 24 - Sea Colony vs. Sussex Comm. Swim Team

Thursday, June 27 - Sea Colony vs. Green Hill Swim Team

Monday, July 8 - Sea Colony at Henson Family YMCA

Thursday, July 11 - Sea Colony at Seaford Community Swim Center

Monday, July 15 - Sea Colony vs. Onley Swim Team

Thursday, July 18 - Sea Colony at Ocean Pines Swim Team



Winter Season:


Registration is available to previous Sea Colony Shark Swim Team participants, a child recommended by a Sea Colony Shark coach or any child who can pass the swim evaluation. Registration is required with payment due at that time. New swimmers whom are interested in the Sea Colony Sharks program must register and attend a FREE swim evaluation held by our Sea Colony Shark coaches, before you can proceed to sign up for the Winter Swim Team. 


Parent supervision required during evaluation held at the Fitness Center indoor pool. Email Mike Pitts at for evaluation dates and times.


Registration is required by calling us at 302-539-4511.

All Swimmers/Parents

  • Swimmers may be moved to a different time slot to better accommodate their swimming ability by the coaching staff. This can change at each practices per the coaching staff. 


Required Equipment/Swim Attire

  • Each swimmer must have the proper equipment before the first scheduled practice. Female- One-piece suit/ Male- jammers. Each swimmer must have goggles that are approved by the coaches, swim cap for swimmers with long hair, fins, pull buoy ages 11+, kick board, towel, filled water bottle. Swimmers are asked to have a bag to store all equipment. Parents, please have your child’s name on all swim equipment. 


NO equipment will be provided.

Visit our team store to purchase your team suit and spirit apparel during the regular season. 

Choose from tees, hoodies, sweatshirts and pants and more.

Swimmers must have their own equipment that is listed in the registration information flyer. 




Coach Janna

Janna is currently the head coach for the Sea Colony Sharks.  She was a competitive swimmer, swimming for R.M.S.C. and Curl Burke in Potomac Valley Swimming, MCSL summer swimming, Walt Whitman High School and Bucknell University.  She has over twenty years experience coaching and instructing swimming in Maryland and Delaware.  Janna is available to give lessons for beginner to advanced level swimmers of any age.  She is American Red Cross certified in CPR and AED for the professional rescuer, Lifeguarding and First Aid.

Coach Johanne

Johanne has over 25 years’ experience in swim instruction and over 18 years as a USA swim coach. She currently serves as the Sea Colony Sharks swim team coach and is certified in CPR, AED, lifeguarding and first aid. She also holds the safety training for swim coaches as well as a certified USA Swim Coach.
