Day 5 - Excitement Builds as Finals Weekend Approaches at the Vacasa Pro Women's Open at Sea Colony

Day 5 of the Vacasa Pro Women's Open at Sea Colony proceeded without any weather-related interruptions besides a slightly later start due to some misty conditions. Although it wasn't the sunniest day, the weather was far preferable than days past. With 10 matches on the schedule, it was crucial for everything to run smoothly and as planned.

The day concluded with the completion of 5 singles matches and 5 doubles matches. The singles quarterfinals showcased remarkable talent, narrowing the field from 32 athletes to just 4. The remaining players are here to win, leaving it all on the court. Notable semifinalists include top-seed Maria Mateas, who defeated comeback queen Ema Burgic in a second-round match delayed by Thursday's rain, and 8-seed Kajsa Rinaldo Persson from Sweden, who triumphed over Angella Ocutoyi, the African Games singles women's champion aiming for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
