Day 3: Full Courts, Full Effort

Another successful day is in the books at the Troon Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony! An ambitious Wednesday schedule wrapped up around 5:45 p.m. after a full day of singles and doubles action featuring top talent from around the world.


Highlights from the day included No. 1 seed Madison Brengle advancing with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Francoise Abanda, Eryn Cayetano defeating Kira Matushkina 6-2, 7-5, and Kaitlyn Carnicella earning a strong 6-3, 7-5 victory over Jada Robinson. In doubles action, the No. 1 seeded team of Eryn Cayetano and Haley Giavara rolled into the quarterfinals with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win.


Very proud of everyone for making today such a true team effort. A special thank you goes out to our incredible Grounds Crew, whose hard work and dedication kept everything running smoothly all week long despite a packed schedule and changing conditions. Their effort has not gone unnoticed and is deeply appreciated!


The tournament continues Thursday, May 14 with Round of 16 singles matches and doubles quarterfinal action at Sea Colony.


Thanks to the continued support of Troon, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), and the Sea Colony community, the Troon Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony continues to bring world-class tennis to Bethany Beach. Running through Sunday, May 17, the tournament features top women’s singles and doubles players from around the world competing for valuable ranking points and a share of the $30,000 prize purse.


Admission is free to all matches and the public is invited to spectate! Join us on Saturday, May 16 for the doubles final and Sunday, May 17 for the singles finals.
