Behind the Scenes

A recent installment of a popular house hunting show for beach property showcased Bethany Beach, Del., and the Sea Colony beach and tennis resort and followed a young family in search of beachfront on a budget.

Local REALTOR® Dayna Feher, leader of Keller Williams Realty’s Delaware Beach Homes Team, guided the home buyers on their quest for an oceanfront property for under $365,000, showing them a quartet of condos ranging in price from $289,000-$369,000. In addition to their bargain-level budget, the buyers wanted a resort home with lots of amenities that could generate rental income when they weren’t using it.

Feher said Sea Colony was the natural choice.

“Sea Colony and Bethany Beach are beautiful family-friendly communities, so it was exciting to play a part in this project – along with the buyers and the show - to call attention to our very special town by the sea,” Feher said. “Sea Colony’s beautiful beach, family-friendly atmosphere and unmatched amenities truly made it a great fit for the buyers’ desires. Where else can you find half-mile of private beach, protected dune, lush landscaping, great facilities, world class tennis, fitness centers, indoor and outdoor pools, activities and events?”

By the end of the show, the buyers offered the sellers of one of the condos, and are now the proud owners of the beach home of their dreams.

Behind the scenes, crews from the Sea Colony Recreational Association, ResortQuest Property Management and a handful of Sea Colony homeowners worked with the production company to provide access to the condos, pools, tennis courts and other amenities seen on the show. ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals supplied estimated rental income for each of the condos to help the buyers make their decision.

In addition to Sea Colony, several local businesses were featured on the program. Feher said the program spotlights the beauty of our seaside town and coastal communities, as well as the wide scope of activities available for residents and vacationers alike.

“Bethany Beach looks welcoming and friendly throughout this program and certainly could attract more people to live and vacation here!” Feher said.

The episode airs again on March 9 at 7 p.m.
