Sea Colony Phase 2 Opening Begins June 15

Delaware Governor John Carney approved the start of recovery Phase 2 effective June 15th. State requirements in Phase 2 can be found here.

Key items from those guidelines as adopted for Sea Colony are:

  • Wearing cloth face coverings where social distancing can not be maintained (e.g. beach crossovers, walking on west paths, etc.), regularly washing hands

  • Social distancing of 6 ft for people who are not part of the household and 10 ft for beach umbrellas, •staying home when sick, utilizing the hand sanitizer stations located throughout the community

  • Allowing some locations currently operating at 30% of fire code occupancy to move to 60%,

  • Recommending all vulnerable individuals continue to shelter in place until Phase 3, and their families should take precautions to isolate from them.

Good News: Weather permitting, the beach is fully staffed and guarded. Umbrellas and chairs are available at three stations from 10 am to 5:30 pm daily. Due to cleaning requirements and staffing, the bathrooms will close when the beach closes.

Starting June 13, the Sea Colony trams, will begin daily service using safe distancing protocols. All owners, guests and renters must display their badges when using the trams. Please be patient and allow travel time in both directions given the reduced tram capacity. Consider using On-Demand Parking, information is on the Owners section of the website. You need to sign in to access this owner information.

On June 15 Occupancy jumps from 30% to 60% at the pools, the Beach Shoppe, and the Tennis Pro Shop.

Tennis - All clay and outdoor courts will be open. Court reservations begin at 8 am and are for 1 hour; two homeowners are required for 2 hours. Reservations are returning to an “on the hour” schedule. The indoor courts are now open on an every-other-court basis. Courts 1, 4 and 6 are available for social and programmed play. Open play for pickleballalso begins. Four pickleball courts are available for reservations on courts 15 and 16 from 8 am to 6:30 pm. Clinics are scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon. Private lessons also are available upon request. More info on seacolonytennis.net.
