Memorial Day Weekend Schedules and Updates

The start of the Summer of 2020 certainly will be different from any we’ve ever experienced. Following Delaware Governor Carney’s State of Emergency mandates, anyone traveling from out-of-state must self-quarantined for 14 days. Sea Colony’s amenities are opening aligned with Phase 1 requirements for health and safety considerations for the current public health emergency. There will be guidelines for number of swimmers in a pool, closures every 2 hours for disinfecting, and social distancing requirements our patrons will need to observe. Following are highlights; check www.SeaColony.com for more details.

Pools

Weather dependent, there will be 5 pools open starting 5/23 of this holiday weekend from 10 am to 6 pm – 2 outdoor on the east, as well as the Edgewater Indoor Pool, and 1 outdoor on the west and the Freeman Fitness Center Indoor Pool. Look for and use the hand sanitizer at the entrance to the pools.

Highlights:

At this time, we are limited to a reduced capacity of people allowed in the pools and pool areas (including the baby pool), based on a percentage of fire marshal occupancy codes.

  • Admittance is on a first come, first serve basis.

  • All pools will be closed and disinfected every two hours for about 15 minutes. Please see the schedule below. Patrons will need to exit the pool with their belongings prior to the scheduled times.

  • There will be an orange flag located at the entrance to the pools. When the orange flag is raised, the pool is at full capacity, so patrons will have to wait outside the pool gate at the designated area until the pool is under capacity. Please practice social distancing and stay 6 feet from anyone not in your household.

  • Baby pools are limited to one family at a time. If other families are waiting, please be respectful and limit your time.

  • Please practice social distancing guidelines at all times with anyone not in your household including when in the water.

  • It is suggested anyone over the age of 12 wear a mask when not in the water; however, masks are not permitted while in the pool.

  • Absolutely no reserving furniture at any time. Items left will be discarded.

Beach

Sea Colony’s beach will be open and guarded from 10 am to 5:30 pm, weather permitting. Please note if there is lightning or thunder, both the beach, outdoor and indoor pools are closed until there is 30 minutes of clear weather.

Beach Concession

Weather permitting, umbrellas and chairs will be available beginning at 10 am on the beach starting May 23. Umbrellas will be placed 10 feet apart edge-to-edge, complying with heath and safety recommendations, and cabanas can be placed only in designated areas. There is signage and staff to assist.

Sea Colony Beach Shoppe and Freeman Fitness Center are not open until around June 1. More information, based on Governor Carney’s updates, will be sent when it is available.

Oceanside Deli and Donuts

Depending upon delivery schedules, the Oceanside Deli and Donuts will have a “soft” opening on Saturday, 5/23, and be open Sunday and Monday from 7 am to 4 pm.

Sea Colony Tennis Center Sea Colony Tennis is open for modified business, with five (5) of our fourteen (14) outdoor hard courts open for social play from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Har Tru courts will be available on Saturday, 5/23, weather permitting. Play is available in 90-minute increments (i.e. 7:30-9 am, 9-10:30 am, 10:30 am-12 pm, etc.) and may be reserved 2 ½ days in advance. Summer Members will be permitted to reserve outdoor courts starting with the 10:30 am slot, 24 hours in advance. In addition, private lessons and adult clinics are available. For a complete list of summer programs, click here.

It is important to practice social distancing on and off the court to keep everyone safe. Come see us, but make sure you call ahead and read the procedures, linked here:

SEA COLONY TENNIS SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES

No walk-on play is allowed at this time. Because the Pro Shop will be closed to the public until June 1, ALL court reservations must be made in Court Reserve or by phone. When making reservations, all players’ names must be included (this allows for contact tracing). Names can be added to the “Notes” section of the reservation in Court Reserve. Please notify the Pro Shop with any changes. There will be a staff member in the Pro Shop from 8 am to 6 pm daily to answer the phone (302-539-4488), take reservations, and handle any issues that may arise.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation.
