Day 7 - Singles Final - 9th ResortQuest Pro Women's Open at Sea Colony

June 9, 2019

There can be only one champion …. and her name is Usue Maitane Arconada.

With an early start to avoid inclement weather and in sometimes windy and misty conditions, Arconada, 20, needed just one hour and 15 minutes on Sunday morning to beat 17-year-old Natasha Subhash 6-1 6-1 and claim the singles title in an all-American final at the ninth ResortQuest Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony – a $25,000 USTA Pro Circuit clay court event.

Arconada adds the single crown to the doubles championship she earned less than 24 hours earlier with partner Hayley Carter. Arconada is one of only two players to win this tournament’s singles and doubles title in the same year (or any combination of years for that matter).

Nations represented on court during the singles tournament’s six-day main draw were Australia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Hungary, Mexico, Peru, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Slovakia and The United States of America.

Again sponsored by ResortQuest, as well as the United States Tennis Association (USTA), UBS Financial and the Sea Colony community, this singles and doubles clay court tournament hosts nationally- and internationally-ranked women tennis players seeking world ranking points and a share of the event’s prize money.

Also sponsoring the tournament were Montego Bay Shopping Center, Off the Hook, Just Hooked, Logomotive, Touch of Italy, Smile Heating & Air Conditioning LLC, Wilson, Head, The Bishop Family, The McIntosh Family, The Sweren Family, The Bergin Family, SportsBuilders, The Lavet  Family, The Zachem Family, The Boustany Family, The Zeigler Family, The Bean Family, The Kent Family, The Lieb Family, The Orwig Family, The Berstein Family, The Jeter Family and The Elliott Family.

Tournament officials and staff would also like extend a very special thank you to the Sea Colony homeowners, the resort’s tennis committee, volunteers and sponsors for making this event possible – and successful - again this year.
